Sixel Assists Bowling Green with Air Service Return after 44-Year Absence

Project Description

Most rural air service news lately has been about another city losing service or seeing service in decline.

Sixel is proud to have assisted Bowling Green, Kentucky, in recruiting and initiating its first local air service in 44 years. On August 29, 2016, a Contour Airlines J41 will lift off from Bowling Green, bound for Atlanta Hartsfield. Later that same week, service will start to Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Bowling Green’s quest for local air service began with a Small Community Air Service Development (SCASD) Grant. Sixel did extensive traffic leakage studies and assisted the airport in organizing the local business community in support of new air service. After some years of recruitment, Sixel was able to bring together Contour Airlines of Nashville, TN, and Bowling Green on a minimum revenue guarantee program.

Give us a call, and let us help you meet your airport’s air service challenges.
